  This restaurant was really nice and served good food, the design in restaurant is nice. But the service was not okay. We were with 6 people and for that we were 'asked' to tip an extra 10% on top of the bill because we were with more then 5 persons. This was written on the bill... This is not service and we refused to pay this extra tip. For that reason a no go for next time...

  Prompt service and great and attentive staff. The food quality is excellent but a wee bit dated. Needs a bit of a face lift!

  A big upside: one member of our group was vegan and they had a good dedicated menu for her. The location is good and staff friendly.
  We had the early-bird/pre-theatre menu, which I had the steak frites. Honestly, this was a bit disappointing as it was wafer thin. My starter of bang bang chicken was fine, not really spicy enough for me (fyi this is a cold salad starter)

  This was hard to review. The food was sublime. And on the whole staff were pleasant, especially the owner. But well within two hours the female server put us under pressure to move on from our table - and the strange thing is that although we enjoy taking our time, on that particular evening we were ready to go quite sharp - but no-one had checked on us to know that we were ready for the bill prior to the waitress informing us that they would like our table back... The table itself was also not the best as my view was of the area behind the till which included a cloak room area and an over filled bin. In no way was it a dirty nor even a hugely unpleasant a view, just not what I would have expected from a high end place.
  Red Onion doubtlessly makes great food and serves great wine... but it could all do with an ethos boost.
